Make it stand out.
It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
Wait a minute.
Who are you?
My name is Steve and I started the industry as a grad in 2005, working for a digital agency called Grand Union. I had the immense benefit of being one of the two first grads working for a small shop eager to grow. As a result I had access to, and support from, people with two decades experience from the start of my career. That support early on helped me immeasurably.
My boss at the agency stressed to me the importance of “sending the lift back down” when you become more senior. I’ve helped run the grad scheme, recruitment and training, at all three agencies I worked for, including my last agency M&C Saatchi where I left earlier this year to see what work for myself feels like (good one day, scary the next).
What I miss most from working at an Agency is something that came later in my career; taking enjoyment from other people’s progress more than my own success. The latter was an expectation, the former consistently a joy.
This is my way of sending the lift back down now I’m working on my own.
How does it work?
Every working day of the week at 9am there is a 45 minute appointment where juniors ad agencies can…
…get whatever they need off their chest
…ask questions they feel unable to at work
…work through a problem that’s causing them issues
With a former head of department, experienced in account management and planning, surviving big agency life and thriving in small start-ups.
